Judgemental, unhelpful, and many unfriendly physicians during the two month trial I gave this hospital! Use good judgement and choose another facility that cares about your healthcare.

Nurses and staff are great. The E R Doc left a lot to be desired!

I cut my arm and needed stitches. Nurses were friendly and efficient. Dr wasn't brimming with personality, but I wasn't there for his personality, I was there for his ability. He cleaned up my wound (had to cut some nasty parts out) and stitched me right up. A 2 1/2" wound and now, months later, you can barely even see a scar! Total time in ER was 35 minutes...not bad at all in my book! I was pleased.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and I recently had to change providers because my doctor moved. We decided to go with Dr. Jones because we have only heard wonderful things about him and the OB Department in Carthage. The original hospital I went to never sent over my ultrasound photos to Dr. So the doctor wanted me to go to the hospital to do one just to make sure everything looked good. My dr appt was scheduled for 2pm in which they wanted me to show up at 1:45 with a full bladder. When we get there( my mom, my 4 year old son, and my fiancé) they said there was an emergency and it was a half an hour wait. No big deal. I get that things happen. It's now 2:40 and I'm about to pee my pants. Worst pain in the world. I go back to the check in to say that I can't hold it any longer and there is no one there. 3pm rolls around and finally someone is there and they have no idea how much longer my wait will be but to go ahead and relieve myself a little bit. I do just that! 3:20 rolls around and it's finally my time. The ultrasound technician never introduced herself..never smiled..and never apologized for the wait. She starts the ultrasound and doesn't like how full my bladder was and asked me to go to the bathroom. Annoying but whatever. I was told to hold it. I come back-and as she is looking at the baby..doesn't explain a damn thing she is looking at. I don't see the baby's face..ANYTHING. I got to see a closed fist and it's nostrils. The whole experience of seeing my baby was awful. So, after the ultrasound she wanted to do a different procedure to check my cervix. Her whole demeanor changed and she told me to get dressed and she would be calling Dr. she didn't like what she saw. Gone for half an hour. Had me completely worried. Sent another nurse in to say that she would be back when she could. When she comes back in she tells me everything is fine and I can go. Won't answer any questions. Rude and automatically started cleaning up the room while we were in there. I just kept asking, -"I'm okay, you are sure I'm okay?" I never got a response-she just kept going about her business to get us out of there. And don't think I don't understand that she couldn't tell me anything but there is a way to go about bad news. She could have seen what she saw and had the dr call me with any concerns. She never reassured me at all. AND with all the ultrasounds I have had(this being my second child) I have ALWAYS had a picture to be sent home with. I received nothing. Worst experience I have EVER HAD. I'm more than disappointed with a wasted day. And I truly believed there was something wrong with me for over half an hour-which resulted in me calling my Drs office to get the reassurance I needed. All I have ever been told were wonderful things about Carthage. This was a terrible experience.

Visited the ER needing immediate care. We were shocked at the amount of time it took to get a response from the staff upon our arrival. The RN, Angela, was haughty and seemed unconcerned that I was experiencing symptoms of a heart attack. There was no sense of urgency in my care. They were in need of electrodes to perform a second EKG on me , but those supplies were locked in the clinic. They paged security three times to access the clinic, but got no response. The nurses station was right outside my door, so I easily overheard Angela's comment "Why do these things always happen to me?" The situation was obviously a difficult time for me, as the patient, but it was made worse by the quality of care I recieved from a couple of the nurses. I will say that the nurse who did my EKG, the technicians, and the doctor who treated me were all fine. But Angela and the nurse who "pointed to the treatment room I was to use" made this ER visit unnecessarily difficult. I will not be going back to Memorial Hospital's ER.
